Li Qing, a farmer in Chenzhou, Hunan, who has received much attention from society, has made new progress in selling fake woolen sweaters for a single price case.

The Ordos intermediate court recently retested the sentence. Li Qing committed a crime of counterfeiting registered trademarks and sentenced him to 4 years and 6 months' imprisonment. The penalty was reduced from 21 million 510 thousand yuan to 1 million 991 thousand and 859 yuan.

After hearing the retrial result, Li Qing's wife, Li Hongying, said the fine was still astronomical.

His agent, Nan Xin Dan, said Li Qing's family had appealed to the Inner Mongolia high court.

The penalty has shrunk to 10%.

In August 2010, Li Qing, a Hunan peddler, bought 30 thousand sets of illegal Trademarks Made by Zhou Jinzhu, Ordos and Heng Yuan Xiang.

Later, Li Qing bought more than 20 thousand pieces of blouses and staple them on the top, wrapped them in famous brand sweaters, and sold them in Taobao stores in the shops of Fumin shopping mall in Chenzhou, Hunan.

After being caught, online shoppers complained to Taobao, and online shoppers reported to the public security department.

In December 15, 2010, the police of Ordos City captured Li Qing in Fumin shopping center, Chenzhou.

In the Li Qing store, the police seized 4351 pieces of counterfeit Ordos sweaters with a tag price of 2180 yuan, and 17403 counterfeit Ordos sweaters at a price tag of 1680 yuan, and 4433 pieces of counterfeit Heng Yuan Xiang woolen sweaters at 968 yuan each.

After being tried by the intermediate court of Erdos City, Li Qing was sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment and a fine of 21 million 510 thousand yuan.

This seemingly ordinary fraud case was labeled with sky high penalty, which immediately caused many controversies in the society.

In April 25th, the case was reopened in the Erdos intermediate court.

According to the recent sentencing results, the court's penalty for Li Qing was reduced from 21 million 510 thousand yuan to 1 million 991 thousand and 859 yuan.

The court "quantitative" was questioned.

Li Qing's attorney Wang Fukui and Nan Xin Dan both said they were "shocked" about the outcome of the retrial.

Wang Fukui said that the judgment found that Li Qing had counterfeited 21754 Ordos sweaters, and counterfeit "Heng Yuan Xiang" 4433 sweaters, which had no legal basis.

"The Ordos police also showed a statement in court hearing, which showed that in December 15, 2010, when the public security authorities searched Li Qing's store for seizure of goods, Li Qing himself did not sign the spot on the list of seized goods."

Wang Fukui said, from the trial, the police showed that the number of fake brand sweaters can not be identified.

"When the police searched the market on the same day, a large number of people selling fake sweaters abandoned their stores and fled. The police counted all the fake sweaters that were investigated and dealt with on my husband's head."

For the number of fake sweaters, Li Hongying explains so.

"We can't accommodate so many clothes in such a small shop."

Nan Xin Dan said that Li Qing's family had appealed to the Inner Mongolia Higher People's court yesterday.
