From the Zhongshan inspection and Quarantine Bureau, it was learned that in the first half of this year, the number of garments exported to Zhongshan and the value of goods exported by the Zhongshan Bureau increased by 50% over the same period last year. The European Union took the place of the second largest trade partner of garment export in the United States.

The total export volume is still the largest in Hongkong, accounting for about 40% of the total volume and value of goods, followed by the European Union, Japan, the United States, Macao and other countries and regions.

In the first half of this year, 25838 batches of textiles and garments exported to Zhongshan were inspected by the Bureau of the people's Republic of China, with a quantity of 131 million 820 thousand pieces, worth 5.1 billion US dollars.

Among them, the number of garments exported to EU was 22 million 100 thousand, the value of goods was 120 million US dollars, the number increased by nearly 50%, the value of goods increased by nearly 60% compared with the same period last year, and the export volume accounted for 17% of the total.

The analysis shows that, contrary to the US recession, the EU economy is developing steadily, and the demand for textile and clothing has also been improved. Moreover, according to the agreement on textile trade between China and Europe, from January 1st this year, the total quota of textile and clothing exported to the EU has been abolished. The cost paid by the enterprises is relatively low, the export channels are more smooth, and the export of EU has greater competitiveness.
