According to the first Secretary of the South Korean Embassy in Burma, a well-known clothing company in South Korea is planning to invest $5 million to build a garment processing plant in Yangon's industrial area, which will be exported directly to Japan and the European market.

The investment of the plant will provide 2000 jobs for Burma.

According to the Secretary, Burma's labor market is the main reason to attract Korean investors.

At present, the project has just entered the negotiation stage.

According to the South Korean diplomat, as of now, South Korea's investment in Burma is mainly confined to the oil and shoe-making industry. After 2010, South Korea's investment in Burma is expected to have new breakthroughs.
