Vietnam exported 2.93 dollars per piece of textile products to the US in the first 5 months of 2008, up 0.7% from the same period last year, and became the 15 country to export the highest export prices to the US textile products. Vietnam's export price to the US in the first 5 months of this year still does not exceed the price range of the implementation of the monitoring measures. The United States is likely to import the Chinese mainland textile products, and the Vietnam textile exhibition will be applied until next year.

After the United States revoked quota control on Vietnamese textiles, Vietnam's exports to the United States have been growing for 18 months, and the unit price of textile products has also increased. The US Department of Commerce recently did not find any dumping phenomenon on Vietnam's export textile products. The United States intends to extend the monitoring measures, and the importers of the country have strongly opposed it.

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce, although the unit price of some textile products exported to the United States has declined (still within the price range), most of the categories of textile products still grow well.

In May this year, Vietnam lost 347 US dollars per Cat., the average price was 58.85 US dollars, the lowest price in the first 5 months of this year, but still higher than the price of 56.44 dollars for each category in April and November last year. Vietnam also exported $54.74 US dollars per month to the United States for exports of Cat.348 textiles in May this year.

Cat.338/339 was $45.84 per dozen, a 2.1% decline in April compared with the same year in April; $10.38 per dozen for Cat.352, the lowest price for this year to May (last year's lowest price was $9.08), while the price of Cat.652 spinning had risen to 12 US dollars from 8.25 US dollars in April of the same year.

In addition, the United States imported Vietnam 345 Cat. of textile products in May this year to 84.74 US dollars, 3 times the price of the same period last year, while Cat.646 spun was 48.24 dollars per dozen.
