American Leisure Wear Giant Gap Enters The Chinese Market

Us leisure wear giant Gap officially announced that it will enter the Chinese market in the second half of the year. The first phase will open four shops, and online shops will be launched on the same period. Gap will introduce a full range of products including men's wear, women's wear and children's wear, including the high-end 1969 Premium Jeans series.


Gap shops are set up in Nanjing West Road, Shanghai, Huaihai East Road, Beijing Wangfujing new Dongan market and Xidan Joy City, with an area exceeding 1000 square meters. In online shopping, Gap will cooperate with the company that operates the shopping website Sasacity.


Gap is headquartered in Shanghai. All stores are self operated and will open shops in other cities in China in the future. Gap was founded in 1969, with over 3100 stores worldwide and sales of 14 billion 200 million US dollars in 2009.
