The government demanded that the Bangladesh government immediately release the garment workers arrested at the end of July 2010 due to the salary problem of garment factories.

Most of the members of the AAFA association are well-known importers of garments in the United States, and have a certain degree of influence on the US government and the Congress.

The US Congress also sent a letter containing 17 members to the large garment importers in the United States, such as Wal-Mart, JCPenny, H&M, CintasCorporation, K-Mart and VFCorporation, calling on importers to exert their influence on Bangladesh government to improve the encounter of the garment workers who were inhumane treatment in Bangladesh, and to dissuade the government of Bangladesh from cancelling some NGO (NonGovernmentOrganization) decrees. Otherwise, the importers of garments importers in the United States may no longer place orders to some garment factories which are not friendly enough to workers in Bangladesh. In the letter of AAFA, reference is made to the ENVOYGROUP and NASSAGROUP of two large garment factories in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's foreign minister, DipuMoni, is currently working on the topic to the Bangladesh government and industry related stakeholders.

KhandakerMosharrafHossain, Minister of labor in Bangladesh, said the United States was misled by false news and said that the government of Bangladesh has the responsibility to protect people's property and personal safety and enforce the necessary regulations. As for some so-called NGO organizations, if they engage in sabotage of social order, Bangladesh government will deal with them in accordance with the law.
