American Textile Industry Adheres To Green Transformation

American textile Industry The change should start in the late nineteenth Century. After the end of the civil war, the southern part of the United States was relatively backward and the wages of workers were generally low. For textile and garment enterprises, it is advantageous to invest in factories in this area. With the large-scale shift of textile enterprises to the south, the status of the American textile industry center has been basically established in the southern region. Since twentieth Century, many policies on textiles and clothing imported from the United States have been promulgated, which also reflects the close partnership between southern politicians and textile factories. After RonaldWilsonReagan became president of the United States, he refused to stand on the same alliance with the textile enterprises in the south, and the United States opened the door to the import of textiles and clothing. (Ronald Wilson Regan)

Nowadays, U.S.A The quota restrictions on imported textiles have been cancelled, and the trace of policy in the trade of textiles and clothing is that tariffs still exist. However, the US government is also actively promoting various tax exemption measures. For example, the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) has granted preferential treatment for imported garments made of yarn and fabrics from the United States.

It is undeniable that textile companies have reduced their R & D investment as the scale of textile production in the United States has shrunk. In 1960s, many enterprises in the United States set up textile research and development base and Application Center, including Milliken (merkins), J.P.Stevens, Burlington and other fabric enterprises, as well as Dupont (DuPont), Chemstrand, DowBadische and other fiber manufacturers, but now only the Institute of merkins Research Institute surviving, including DuPont, most of the company's basic fiber research center has disappeared.

Nevertheless, I still have confidence in the advantages of American textile companies in product research and development, especially for the development of "green" textiles. American textile enterprises not only focus on environmental protection in the process of product production, but also the characteristics of their products tend to be "green". As far as I know, the United States Department of agriculture (USDA) especially supports enterprises and institutions in the field of natural fiber application such as cotton, wool and linen. The Ministry of Agriculture Research Center will provide technical equipment and financial support for related research.

In the past 15 years, American textile enterprises have made remarkable achievements in the combination of textile, fiber, polymer and materials. I believe this trend will continue. The textile industry in the United States will adhere to the combination of industry and R & D and take the lead in technological innovation.

In the future, I am more optimistic about the spinning of nanofibers. yarn Application in garment fabrics. Based on the characteristics of nanofiber diameter, dye absorption and high cost, many factories are cautious in actual production, but the excellent properties such as smoothness and flexibility of nanomaterials are unmatched by some materials.
