Adidas Opens The World'S Largest Distribution Centre

The group announced that it plans to open its largest distribution center in the first half of 2013, which is located in Niedersachsenpark, Germany.

The planned distribution center will put Adidas and Reebok.

All the logistics and services of the three sales channels are integrated: wholesale, retail and e-commerce.

The center will create more than 200 long-term employment opportunities.

Investment

More than 100 million euros is planned for completion in 2013.


"By 2015, we hope that our business will grow to 17 billion euros.

The new distribution center will help us increase delivery speed and improve service efficiency for customers and consumers, "said Herbert Heiner, chief executive of Adidas group.

"Investment in iedersachsenpark's most advanced facilities also shows our commitment to the German domestic market."


By 2015, the planned Niedersachsenpark distribution center will distribute more than 100 million products to Western Europe every year.

Standardized distribution process, fully automated and integrated IT solutions will ensure a high level of service for Western European customers.


The Niedersachsenpark distribution center plans to break ground in August 2011.

It started operation in the first half of 2013 and runs at full capacity in 2015.

The distribution center is part of Adidas group Green's initiative to reduce its environmental footprint.
