Martha Stores New Stores In Shanghai

Marks&Spencer, an old British department store, has been doing a lot of action recently, and 2010~2011 has opened three stores in China in one year.

In June 18th, Simon, managing director of Martha's Asia, said that in the coming year, Marsha will open 5 stores in Shanghai, and the number of stores in Shanghai will reach 9 by July next year.

There are many new contents in Martha's latest 2010~2011 annual report, which significantly increased the intensity of overseas expansion and accelerated the speed of cloth shops in Shanghai, India and other markets.

Chief executive MarkBolland made the international market scale growth plan of Martha department store in November last year. It plans to invest 150 million pounds. In 2013~2014, the global market revenue will increase by 300 million ~5 billion, to 1 billion 500 million pounds, and global sales to 12 billion 500 million, and the global market account for 12% of the total group revenue.


Martha is also changing in the face of all kinds of acclimatization to early entry into China, including the newly opened Zhongsheng store in Minhang, which has increased the proportion of children's clothing, which fits the demand for children's clothing brought about by the new round of fertility peak in China.

At the same time, Marsha began to redesign clothing for local people. The size and style of the former appeared to be unsuitable for Chinese people.

At the same time, in view of the potential delay and high cost of global supply, four additional regional centres, including Sri Lanka, China, Istanbul and Singapore, have been reduced by 13% of goods from the UK to the rest of the world, and 31% of the goods have been issued by the regional centres.


Shanghai market has become

Naturally, there are more important arrangements in key areas. At present, Marsha has set up a procurement team in Shanghai, which is responsible for purchasing the Shanghai market. The logistics department, which was originally under the management of the financial department, was assigned to the purchasing department to cooperate with the procurement operation.

At the same time, Shanghai Marsha has adjusted the marketing department, pforming the situation of the previous market department and the supplier's self governance directly into the purchasing department controlling the purchase and inventory, and guiding the marketing promotion scheme. All the procurement activities are carried out locally, which not only saves the cost, but also closer to the local market customer demand.
