Textile Fiber Waste Treatment Trend In Developed Countries

In the past few decades, there are many textile waste products in the United States and Western Europe, mainly due to many garments or others.

Fabric

After being used for a single time, it was disposed of as garbage.

Only a few foresight have realized that textile fiber waste or waste clothing is far from garbage.

The earliest Warner brothers or other Hollywood tycoons, who allegedly emigrated from Europe to the United States, were said to have won the first barrel of gold by picking up rags.

25 years ago, the world's textile industry gradually realized that textile fiber wastes could actually become the second raw material resources.

In the 90s of last century, some textile media writers visited a textile waste recycling company in Spain. They found that the company had to recycle 200 tons of textile fiber waste every day. They even used money to buy textile fiber waste from all European countries, and also purchased from countries outside Europe.

After World War II, the international recycling industry is in the ascendant. People are aware of the need for an international organization to support the recycling industry.

Development

To this end, in 1948, the international recycling Bureau was established (BureauofInternationalRecycling, BIR).

Initially, it is a non-profit organization whose headquarters is located in Brussels, Belgium. Its main purpose is to improve the interests of the global recycling sector.

Then, they recycle all the world.

market

The organization provides information, legal texts and latest technologies, including the utilization of waste paper and waste textiles.

The organization takes this affair as its responsibility and contributes to the sustained development and prosperity of the world industry.

20 years later, textile waste collection has become a very independent industry.

Textile fiber waste recycling is almost everywhere.

BIR experts predict that if all textile fiber waste is recycled, at least half of the waste can be recycled.

Nowadays, the sustainability of textile industry has become the key to development.

BIR calculates that if 60 million people in the UK buy clothes made of recycled waste every year, then the whole UK can save 1600000000L of water every year and use 480t chemical dye less. This figure is shocking.

But in fact, about 50% of recycled textiles or second-hand textiles in developed countries have gone to less developed countries.

In many African countries, more than 80% of the population wear second-hand clothing.

More than half of the Western waste clothing is donated or illegally exported to less developed countries.

Nowadays, textile waste recycling companies in Western Europe and the United States are mushrooming. Among them, BIR has several textile fiber waste recycling enterprises, and they participate in the competition of textile recycling worldwide.

To this end, textile fiber waste recycling prices are also increasing.

In the United States, the price of second-hand textile fiber waste has risen by 10%~25%.

What is worrying is that, under the trend of textile waste recovery, some Western companies have bought a banner under the banner of "charity" and "donation".

A textile recycling company in the United Kingdom has used the illegal means to participate in the market competition in order to recover the waste textiles.

Britain's national anti fraud Bureau has also begun a nationwide investigation. They want to know how many textile waste recycling enterprises are making profits under the banner of "charity".

In France, textile recycling companies are stealing and robbing each other in parallel.

The recycling of waste textile fibers has developed from non-profit to today's profiteering industry. Therefore, more and more enterprises are involved, and there are various ways of recycling.

Textile recycling has not only become a commercialized economic activity, but also an environmentally friendly ecological industry, so it is most admired.

The BIR institution conducted a study at University of Copenhagen in Sweden in 2008. It concluded that every time 1kg waste textiles were used, 3.6kg emissions could be reduced, 6000L saved, and 0.3KG fertilizer and 0.2kg pesticides reduced.

The textile industry has reclaimed large quantities of waste textiles. This trend has significantly reduced carbon dioxide emissions compared with the processing of raw materials.

Therefore, BIR calls on people not to waste waste textile fibers, and now it has become the real value of sustainable development. Recycling or recycling waste textiles is most conducive to the environment that our children and grandchildren need.
