Recently, Xie Ming, President of Jiangsu Textile Industry Association, went to Yancheng to investigate and guide the pformation and upgrading of Yancheng's textile industry.

The total number of cotton textile enterprises above designated size is nearly 600, and the output value achieved in 2010 accounts for 60% of the total textile industry in the city.

In 2010, 852 thousand tons of yarn were produced throughout the year, an increase of 13.6% over the same period, and 1 billion 154 million meters, an increase of 11.2% over the same period last year.

In the first three quarters of this year, the textile industry reached 20 million yuan in business income of 64 enterprises, accounting for 20% of the total number of Enterprises above designated size.

At the symposium, Xie Ming said that the textile industry in Yancheng should take a new step. We must adhere to the cultivation of large scale backbone enterprises, form scale benefits and industrial characteristics, and gain the right to speak in the market segments of products; intensify technological innovation, strengthen the management of production and operation of enterprises, pursue the high quality of products and the high efficiency of production, and lead the industry to accelerate development at a higher level; in line with the principle that clusters are superior to individuals and parks are superior to clusters, attach importance to the cultivation of industrial clusters and the creation of characteristic parks, extend and strengthen the industrial chain, and achieve the industrial agglomeration effect; textile enterprises should pay attention to optimizing their own industrial structure, enhancing their brand image, accelerating the operation of capital markets, and making efforts to be bigger and stronger, so as to promote the steady and healthy development of Yancheng's textile industry.
