Today it is a global outdoor sportswear center.

According to reports, Nike and Puma and other sports brands in Bangladesh opened a garment factory in-depth investigation report, three brands of garment factory workers interviewed by 2/3 said they had been beaten, slapped, shoved or pulled hair.

After the report was exposed, the "abuse door" also attracted the attention of the London Olympic Committee, putting pressure on three brands and conducting timely investigations.

Abuse of Lynching

Often beaten and harassed.

A guardian reporter found that the sponsors of the London Olympics

Adidas

Nike and Puma had "sweatshops" in Bangladesh, arrears of wages, forced overtime work, and even misuse of "lynching".

At Puma's Bangladesh factory, employees interviewed said they had been beaten, slapped or beaten by their manager.

"The factory manager slapped me, often scolding me for kicking me, and even calling us insulting names," said 32 year old worker, Canon Khan.

Our spirit and body are hurt.

If we want to safeguard our legitimate rights and interests, we will be brutally punished.

In addition to being beaten, we will be forced to take off our clothes, stand on the table and be humiliated, or even be locked in the toilet or not to use the toilet.

Akter, the same factory, said: "they used to swear at us with dirty words, slapping their ears and pulling their hair against the wall. They even threatened to fire me and send me to prison."

In Adidas and Nike's Bangladesh factories, female workers interviewed said they were often sexually harassed.

"The manager will often use erotic language to our female workers," said Huck, a woman worker at Adidas factory.

I've been hurt by the foreman, and they can do terrible things to girls.

They do not even allow women workers to wear scarves that cover their bosom. "

Abusers refused to work overtime

The wages will be deducted all day.

Most of the three brands in Bangladesh factories are women workers. They are forced to work overtime for a long time, but they do not have overtime pay. Most of them are desperate for life.

according to

The People's Republic of Bangladesh

The law stipulates that the working hours should not exceed 60 hours a week and rest at least one day a week.

Workers interviewed by 2/3 said they worked much longer than 60 hours.

If they refuse to work overtime, the whole day's wages will be deducted, sometimes overtime or even no pay.

Khalida, 35, works in Nike factory. She said, "when I was a little girl, my dream was to go to school and grow up happily with my husband and children."

But now I don't know where my future is.

My 7 year old son always whining and complaining that I can't pick him up, but I have to work from morning till night.

I got up at 4 in the morning, then I cooked breakfast and lunch for my family, woke my son to let him go to school, and then went to work.

The factory stipulates that we must arrive before 7 o'clock, and will often be forced to work late into the night. I have to sit for more than an hour to get home.

Some Adidas workers earn only 9 pence per hour (about 0.9 yuan), and 1/3 workers work for more than 80 hours per week.
