Gucci Accuses Apparel Retailer Guess Of Plagiarism

The company has accused Guess of trying to "Gucci" its product range, and the purses, belts, shoes and other products sold are all duplication or imitation of Gucci design.
Gucci, founded in 1921, is currently a brand of the PPP group, which is based in France. Gucci is just one of many luxury companies that prosecute the so-called imitators.
The American magistrate Shila shindrin said that Gucci could continue to claim that the 4 designs of Guess caused the so-called violation: red and green stripes, logo emblem, unique style square G and 4 bite letters G.

A lawyer from Guess was asked to comment on the matter, but he did not respond immediately.
Guess argues that "intentional fraud" is impossible, and the sale of its products is not confusing the reputation of shoppers for Gucci.
A lawyer from Gucci also declined to comment.
According to the judge, Gucci said that Guess and other defendants should be compensated for the loss of $26 million, representing the amount of "reasonable rights" calculated by the loss appraiser of Gucci.
The appraiser also estimated that the total profits of the defendant from infringement amounted to more than 98 million dollars.
