The Federation issued the "2010-2011 development report on China's sporting goods industry", summarized the current situation of the development of sports goods industry, and made a judgement on the future development trend.

Ma Jilong, vice chairman and Secretary General of the China Sporting Goods Industry Federation, said that the sporting goods industry, as the largest proportion of the sports industry, with the highest openness and the highest degree of competition, has maintained rapid development in recent years.

In the past 2006-2011 years, the added value of China's sporting goods industry (sportswear, sports shoes, sports equipment and related sports products) has increased year by year, with an average annual compound growth rate of 17.63%. By 2011, it is expected to reach 176 billion yuan, accounting for more than 80% of the sports industry.

The rapid development of China's sporting goods industry not only provides protection for all kinds of sports events, but also lays a solid material foundation for China's national fitness campaign.

Moreover, with the continuous improvement of the specialization and product quality of sports goods in China, more and more Chinese manufacturing has entered the international market, occupying more than 65% of the world's sporting goods industry, making China's sporting goods industry play an increasingly important role in the world sporting goods industry.

For the future development trend of China's sporting goods industry, Ma Jilong believes that it will mainly be manifested in five aspects.

First of all, rising trade protectionism will further affect the development of the industry.

Since the outbreak of the financial crisis in 2008, trade protectionism in various countries has risen rapidly.

Most developed and developing countries have taken measures to subsidize their important industries and set up trade barriers, so as to protect their industries from competition with foreign counterparts.

Sports goods industry is no exception, such as Indonesia, Brazil, South Africa and so on have introduced shoes and clothing.

Trade protection

Policy.

Second, industry competition will further intensify, and the whole industry will face two shuffling.

At present, the frontline brands of sports goods industry are expanding to the two or three line city, while the two or three line brands are also actively entering the first tier cities. The cross of various brand markets will inevitably aggravate the competition in the industry.

At the same time, inventory, cost and other problems will also speed up the survival of the fittest in the industry.

Third, emerging markets are scramble for escalation.

After the slowdown in the growth rate of the industry, sporting goods companies will intensify their efforts to develop new markets in search of a breakthrough, and the competition for emerging markets will become more intense.

Take the outdoor products market as an example, in the affirmative situation of the market, many international and domestic first-line brands have launched products for the segmented market to conduct business layout.

In addition, e-commerce will become a concentrated force in sports products enterprises.

At present, many domestic sports shoes and clothing brands have announced in a high-profile manner that they should intensify their efforts in developing e-commerce and put forward their own development plans respectively.

The sports industry's efforts to develop e-commerce are not only cater for the strategic layout of the younger generation's online shopping, but also a tactical consideration to reduce sales costs and digest channel inventory.

In addition to these four trends, the report points out that the future sporting goods will be gradually realized.

Intellectualization

"The rapid development of nanotechnology, electronic technology and other high technology has been gradually applied to the development of raw materials such as textiles. At the same time, because it can greatly enhance the function of raw materials, it has been used in the production of sports apparel and shoes, making the function of sports shoes and clothes gradually intelligent."

Ma Jilong said.

Will OEM Enterprises Turn The Manufacturing Land Out Of China?

In the future, OEM clothing is no longer a "made in China" world. Although China is still the world's largest exporter of clothing, it is also the largest supplier of clothing to many international brands. But because of the rising labor costs in China, coupled with the long distance and high pportation costs, many world famous brands are now looking for cheaper alternatives.
