Several Common Silk Fabrics

Silk fabrics are plain or plain weave fabrics, with warp and weft yarns dyed into one or several different colors before being ripe. Weakly twisted warp yarns and untwisted weft yarns. Silk fabrics are characterized by fine, smooth and neat silk surface.

1. Taffeta

Taffeta is a top grade variety of silk fabrics, which is fully pure silk. It is usually woven from raw silk of 22.2/24.4dtex with plain weave. It can be divided into plain taffeta, shimmering taffeta, gretaffeta, flowered taffeta, etc. according to different hue or texture changes.

(1) Plain taffeta: although the color of the silk surface is one kind, it is not made of raw silk and then degummed and dyed. Instead, the silk is degummed and dyed to form ripe silk before weaving. Therefore, it is a mature woven silk with the same color and woven from ripe warp and weft. Although there is no obvious difference between the appearance of the mature woven silk and the dyed raw silk, the formation process is very different.

(2) Sparkling taffeta: different colors of warp and weft lines are used, generally dark warp, light or white weft, to form the flashing effect of the fabric.

(3) Lattaffeta: similar to yarn dyed gingham, both warp and weft lines are matched with dark and light colors to form a lattice effect.

(4) Patterned taffeta: It is a plain taffeta with satin pattern.

Due to the high density of taffeta, its surface is smooth, flat and not easy to stain. The unique silk sound of silk is particularly obvious on taffeta. However, the fabric should not be folded or heavily pressed, otherwise it is easy to crease and the mark is not easy to iron. Therefore, the whole piece of taffeta is packed in reels in order to keep its flatness. Taffeta can be used as high-class dress and banquet dress.

2. Tianxiang Silk

Tianxiang silk is a kind of mature woven silk with plain jacquard pattern, which is made of real silk and viscose filaments. The raw silk of 22.2/24.4dtex is used for warp, and the bright viscose filament of 133.3dtex is used for weft. The pattern is weft satin, and the weft has 2-3 colors. The pattern is small and medium scattered flowers all over the ground. The silk surface of Tianxiang Silk is flat, with shiny flowers on the plain ground on the front and dull patterns on the back.

3. Digging Flower Silk

The purpose of digging flower silk is to mulberry silk Ripe woven plain jacquard fabric interwoven with viscose filaments. Two twisted raw silk yarns are used for warp yarns and 133.3dtex lustrous viscose filaments are used for weft yarns. The figured silk is inlaid with prominent colored florets in the satin pattern. This flower is carefully cut and wound by hand with a special small bamboo shuttle, which greatly enhances the three-dimensional sense of the silk pattern pattern, makes it more vivid and beautiful, and has the style of Suzhou embroidery. Its disadvantage is that it is not resistant to washing.
