Accounting for 6% of the Asian Nonwovens Market (2 million 600 thousand tons), the head of the Asia nonwovens Association said it is expected that in 2016 the India nonwovens market will still account for 6% of the Asian Nonwovens Market.

The total population of India has reached 1 billion 200 million, which has potential opportunities in many markets, such as health, automobile and filtration.

According to the relevant data, with the increase of population and consumers becoming richer, it is estimated that the total value of textile market in India will reach US $140 billion by 2020.

This huge growth not only provides great opportunities for India and potential foreign investors, but also provides opportunities for India's textile and garment industry itself.

Holmes, the head of the association, said, "unfortunately, it did not grow rapidly as we imagined.

Although India's GDP has increased, the rupee has fallen against the US dollar, which will make imports even more expensive.

India is the second largest textile and clothing producer in the world after China.

Holmes said India has great potential in other markets, especially technical textiles, including medical textiles.

But Holmes said that although the central government provided a rebate of 10% of capital investment, the incentive mechanism failed to induce more manufacturers to invest in nonwoven technology.

As for the recent investment, global nonwovens Limited announced in late June this year that the company plans to add 1 large spinning and melting lines in Nasik, India, mainly for health and medical applications.

The production line, which has an annual output of 20000 tons, is expected to be put into operation in 2014.

Ashok, chief executive of Precot new Department, said that the new project will become a comprehensive factory. The factory will not only have nonwovens production lines and finishing machines, but also self processing products.

Precot will start trial production of cosmetic cotton in January 2013.

At the end of last year, P & G, the world's largest consumer product maker, announced plans to create products for the India market to provide more affordable products for the growing population.
