Textile Exports Continued To Decline Slightly In Pakistan

According to BA's "dawn" report on November 21st, Pakistan's Federal Bureau of statistics released data show that, in the first four months of 2008-09 fiscal year (2008 7-10 months), Pakistan textile exports continued to decline slightly, the amount of 3 billion 530 million U.S. dollars, compared with the same period in the same period of 3 billion 570 million dollars, down 0.9%.

The main export decline is: cotton yarn exports 397 million US dollars, down 13%; bedding 653 million US dollars, down 9%; garments 406 million US dollars, down 20%.

The export of cotton cloth was 691 million US dollars, an increase of 9%; knitwear 678 million dollars, an increase of 4%; raw cotton exports 36 million US dollars, an increase of 72%.
