Guangzhou'S First Store Will Open Gap Greater China Continue To Expand

Gap Inc., the largest Old Navy Old Navy of Cape group, has been expanding in the east near the city since it opened its first flagship store in Shanghai in March 1st. In this statement, Gap Inc. said that the brand will expand to the southern and northern parts of China.

China's Old Navy Old Navy store outside Jiangsu and Shanghai will be settled in Shenzhen in November 8th, the first frontier of reform and opening up. In December, the old Beijing Old Navy first shop will also open, and 7 stores will be co operated in 5 cities in China by the end of this year.

In addition, Gap's first store in Guangzhou will open on Saturday.

Gap Inc. Jeff Kirwan Ke Weijie, President of Greater China in Cape group, said that the attitude of Greater China consumers to the two brands of the group gave the group confidence in the expansion of the market. He also said he hoped to bring multi-channel sales to Chinese consumers.

Gap cape and Old Navy are currently holding flagship stores in Tmall Tmall, apart from operating their e-commerce websites in China.

One month Gap Inc. Cape group was in turmoil. In early October, the group announced that its chairman and chief executive, Glenn Murphy, will be leaving in February 1, 2015. Its position will be taken up by Art Peck, President of the current growth, innovation and digital department, together with the double blow of September's same store sales data, which is worse than market expectations. Gap Inc.'s share price fell by about 9% after the announcement.

In addition to the departure of Glenn Murphy, Carolyne Rapp, Gap's global creative and design director, has also left.
