Rothy, an American footwear start-up based in San Francisco, California, is using recycled PET plastic bottles.

Rothy's shoes are made of recycled plastic bottles made of yarn.

They also boast that their products are carbon free products, including shoes, insoles and packaging, which contain no carbon.

First, Rothy used specialized technology to conduct thermal washing of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, peel off the lid and label, and then process the yarn of filament yarn.

The yarns are specially treated at the same time, providing foot moistureproof and breathable.

An average of three recycled PET bottles can produce a shoe.

3D is used to weave the shoe shape, then heat is set, and the final work is combined with the outsole and a cushioned insole.

The first batch of Rothy PET recycling shoes offers 17 different color combinations.

They can also be machine wash occasionally, and each pair of shoes can be recycled at the end of its wear life.

Customers only need to download a recovery list and give it to Rothy's recycling partner PLUSfoam.
