In May 4th, the Shanghai city commerce and Industry Bureau announced the results of the latest clothing inspection. The sampling involves the sale of 4 garments sold by Oteri J in 4 regions of Pudong, Qingpu, Xuhui and Yangpu.

After testing, 23 batches were unqualified, and the unqualified rate was 20.9%, slightly better than last year's 4 percentage.

Of the 36 batches, 5 batches were found to be unqualified. In the 35 batches of the outlets in Qingpu, 7 batches were found to be unqualified. 4 batches of the 19 batches of the Xuhui outlets were found to be unqualified. In the 20 batches of the Yangpu international fashion center, 7 batches were found to be unqualified.

The unqualified items are mainly color fastness, fiber content, peel strength and product instructions.

Compared with the previous years, the color fastness of this sampling inspection was increased, of which 9 batches were resistant to water.

The colour fastness to dry rubbing is not consistent with the national mandatory standard.

Shanghai industry and Commerce Bureau said that the color fastness was 14 batches.

Among them, 3 batches of dry rubbing color fastness, 10 batches of color fastness to wet rubbing, 5 batches of color fastness to acid perspiration, 7 batches of alkali fastness to perspiration, and 2 batches of color fastness to wash.

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce and industry of Vietnam (MOIT) has completed the drafting of a new regulation on the content of formaldehyde and decomposable aromatic amine dyes in textiles and garments sold in the country.

In the second half of 2016, new regulations on formaldehyde and aromatic amines in textiles and clothing have just been abolished.

As these two chemicals may have harmful effects on human health and environment, the Ministry of Commerce and industry has decided to draw up a new technical regulation for the content of formaldehyde and decomposable aromatic amine dyes in the textiles sold domestically, and stipulates the limits and testing methods for the release of aromatic amines in formaldehyde and decomposable aromatic amines in textiles.

It is applicable to all textile producers and importers in Vietnam.

According to the new regulation, formaldehyde residues in textiles for children less than 36 months old should not exceed 30 mg / kg.

For textiles directly contacting human skin, the formaldehyde residue should not exceed 75 mg / kg, and the residual formaldehyde should not exceed 300 mg / kg for textiles which do not directly contact the skin.

In addition, the above draft stipulates that the residual amount of each aromatic amine in any textile product shall not exceed 30 mg / kg, and shall be tested by the authorized institution authorized by the Ministry of Commerce and industry of Vietnam.
