Yesterday morning, on behalf of Donghua University, the 2019 high-level seminar on Lanmei textile and garment industry development, representatives of various countries spoke deeply about the development of textile and garment industry.

At present, the Lancang Mekong River cooperation has become one of the most dynamic and potential cooperation mechanisms in the Mekong sub region, and is an important platform for CO constructing "one belt and one road". China's textile industry has responded positively to the development requirements of the cooperative mechanism and has taken the lead in organizing the international production capacity cooperation in the textile and garment industry in the basin. The seminar is also an innovative measure taken by the textile industry association of Donghua University and the China Council for the promotion of international trade to promote the establishment of Lanmei textile and garment industry cooperation dialogue mechanism and enhance the position of lancet in the global textile industry chain and value chain.

It is learnt that the seminar will focus on the development of modern textile technology, upgrading of textile and garment industry and the sustainable development of China's textile industry through the rich curriculum forms such as thematic report exchange and field visits. The lecturers include teaching professors from Donghua University and senior experts from industry associations. According to the person in charge, Wu Xiaojun, the seminar aims to share the development experience of China's textile and garment industry in policy formulation, innovation and development, international layout, intelligent manufacturing, industrial cluster and social responsibility, so as to promote the common development of the textile and garment industry in all countries of Lanmei River basin, and promote the industrialization and economic prosperity of various countries along the border, thus laying the foundation for building a higher level and deeper level of cooperation in textile and garment industry.

In 2017, the main business income of China's textile enterprises above Designated Size reached 6 trillion and 890 billion, accounting for 5.9% of all industries above Designated Size, and the total scale of textile manufacturing accounted for over 50% of the world's total. China's textile and apparel exports totaled 274 billion 500 million US dollars, accounting for 17.38% of China's total exports. China has become the most important textile manufacturing country.

Gu Bohong, Dean of the textile School of Donghua University, said that the intelligent manufacturing of textile industry needs complex talents who know textile manufacturing technology and digitalization. "At the Textile Institute, apart from traditional textile courses, we have added intelligent manufacturing related courses, and constantly connected with large modern enterprises to form an advanced, flexible and on-demand curriculum system with advanced design concepts." Turning to the employment opportunities brought by the Internet to the textile industry, Gu Bohong said that the popular fashion design and customization mode of virtual personas on the Internet can become a new direction of employment.
