In March 10, 2020, the US Department of agriculture (USDA) released the global cotton supply and demand monthly report, and 2019/20's cotton production and final inventory rose. The total consumption is down by 185 thousand and 300 tons. Although the consumption in Bangladesh and Turkey has increased, it can only slightly offset the 218 thousand ton reduction in the mainland. The total output increased by about 54 thousand and 500 tons, as the expected increase in output in Brazil, Chad and Tajikistan was greater than that in the US and elsewhere. The end of this month 2019/20 global inventory increased by 283 thousand and 400 tons, compared with 2018/19 697 thousand and 600 tons.

About US cotton data: 2019/20 cotton cotton forecast output, price and ending inventory have been reduced from last month. According to the processing report released in March 10th, cotton production fell by 65 thousand and 400 tons to 4 million 316 thousand and 400 tons. The final forecast of US cotton sown area, unit yield and total output will be released in May 2020. Domestic cotton output and export volume were unchanged from last month, ending inventory down 65 thousand and 400 tons to 1 million 111 thousand and 800 tons. Cotton farmers are expected to receive an annual average price of 60 cents per pound, down 2 cents from last month.
