On October 22, the Ministry of tourism and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, the government of Fergana Prefecture, the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan, the representative office of the United Nations Population Fund in Uzbekistan and the Commission on UNESCO affairs of Uzbekistan jointly held the Fifth International "traditional textile Festival" in markelan from 20 to 22.

Representatives of governments and enterprises from the United States, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh and Turkey were invited to attend the event. At the opening ceremony, Uzbekistan publicized the traditional textiles and textile technology, and displayed the products combined with modern design concepts through fashion shows, drama and music performances, town fairs and other activities, hoping to improve the popularity of the products.
