In The First Two Months, The EU Has Become The Largest Market For Textile And Clothing Exports In Jiangsu.

The EU has become the largest textile export market in Jiangsu province for the first time, due to the restriction of the cancellation of export volume and favorable policies.

According to the statistics of Jiangsu foreign trade and Economic Cooperation Department, Jiangsu textile and apparel exports to the EU in the 1~2 months of this year, 970 million US dollars, up 23.7% over the same period last year, exceeding the export volume to the US and Japan markets.

Since the beginning of this year, the export of textiles and clothing in Jiangsu has been steadily slowing down since last year, and exported 4 billion 200 million US dollars in the first two months, an increase of 11.5% over the same period last year, which is 1.8 percentage points higher than the national average.

In several major markets, Jiangsu textile and clothing exports to the United States slowed down significantly, an increase of 8% over the same period last year, and the market share fell to the third place from the first place in 2007. Exports to Japan continued the downturn trend since last year, up 4% in the first two months of this year, continuing to rank second.

Jiangsu Province Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau personage expresses, Jiangsu to EU textile and clothing exports have maintained the low end products gradually reduced, the volume and price steadily rising trend.
