By increasing the industrial chain, we can increase the added value of corn industry. Many experts at the conference believed that based on the comprehensive innovation of planting, marketing, processing and spanformation, we should use the industrial thinking to plan the corn industry and accelerate the development of the corn economy.

Jilin Province, located in the world's golden corn belt, has a steady annual output of over 20 million tons of corn. The annual grain, grain and corn exports are 10%, 20% and 50% respectively. As the absolute leader of China's corn industry, Jilin province has achieved 8 million tons of annual corn processing and 40% of the total maize output in Jilin province by accelerating the development of processing industry.

Yu Wenbo, deputy director of Jilin Agricultural Committee, said that corn is the leading industry of agriculture and rural economy. Animal Husbandry The agricultural products processing industry provides feed sources and important raw materials. At present, through the development of high quality animal husbandry, Jilin province has used 3 million 800 thousand tons of corn annually, accounting for about 20% of the current corn output. By accelerating the development of processing industry, the total annual maize processing reached 8 million tons, accounting for more than 40% of the corn output, and the products of processing starch, alcohol, starch sugar and chemical alcohols reached more than 400. Varieties

In the next 10 years, China's corn processing industry will be more robust and its product mix will be optimized. Professor Li Xinhua, Professor of food science, Shenyang Agricultural Uinversity, said: "as an important industrial raw material, corn has more and more applications in modern industry. But at present, the proportion of Chinese corn as a raw material for processing is still less than 10%, less than half of that in the United States.

In addition, Zhao Jiuran, director of the maize research center of Beijing Academy of agricultural and Forestry Sciences, said at the meeting that although all kinds of natural disasters suffered by China will cause losses to 20% of the corn, there will still be 30 million mu yield potential from various natural conditions. It is estimated that the planting area in the future will reach 500 million mu.
